Let us make a simple calculation. The average lifespan of a Chinese is 71.4 years. Divide this figure by 365 and you get 26061. This is the average number of days we can live. If you are 15 this year, you will have lived 15 x 365 = 5475 days, and you are still left with 20586 days.
Make a calculation. See how many days more you can still go.
Someone once advised me to live every day as if it were the last day of my life. This may sound pessimistic, but there is some truth in it. For every day we live, it is a day less in our lives. Life is often described as a long river. But is it that long?
Times 26061 and 24 and you get 625464. That is the number of hours we can live. It seems not that small a figure, but how many of those hours are spent on sleep, on our meals, and on doing trivial things? Do we spend every minute and second wisely?
We live in a high-pace era. Technologies are changing with each passing day. So shouldn't we adjust ourselves and increase our efficiency too?
How much time do you spend lying in bed, refusing to get out of it even though you have woken up? As you do that, many others might already be doing their morning exercise, having their breakfast, or on their way to school or to work. And you do nothing. Very often than not, your success depends on how good you are at managing your time – whether you can do as many things as you can in the limited amount of time you have.
Remember, we only have 26061 days to live. How many days are you left with?
