TAMPERE, Finland—During its run at Tampere Hall in Finland, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular gave show-goers the opportunity to experience the elegance and majesty of authentic Chinese culture.

Among those who attended Tuesday's show were three generations of Finnish women whose love of Chinese tradition brought them to see the Spectacular.

Pirkko, her daughter, Anne Riitta, and granddaughter Anna were all generous in their praise for the show.

"This is so great, I love the music and the choreography is excellent," said Pirkko, a retired director of nursing.

"I fell in love with the costumes; they were just pure and beautiful," said Anna, a student.

"I have been to Shanghai and Hong Kong and I liked it very much," said Anne, a freelance secretary of imports and exports. "It's something very beautiful…I enjoy the Chinese history and the culture."

Then they all spoke at once on the topic of their favorite acts, mentioning the singers, the drums, and especially the dance "The Risen Lotus Flower."

"I liked it a lot, the symbol of your own culture, typical Chinese," said Anne, adding that she wanted to thank Divine Performing Arts "for coming to Finland and showing us something beautiful about your history."

"I like that you have symbolism of your history. I have read and studied for a long time and Chinese history is really a long history." said Pirkko.
