AUCKLAND, New Zealand—Graphic & digital designer Pranesh Lal travelled from Hamilton to see the final Chinese Spectacular at Auckland's ASB Theatre on Saturday April 19.

He said he liked all of the performances and the show was magnificent. "Everything is so well timed."

"I liked the choreography… the sound… the costumes… the performers. It's magnificent," he said.

Mr Lal said the show was about different Chinese Dynasties and was written according to history. "It's the way it really was."

"I can't seem to understand how these performers are able to keep a smile on their face for the whole act. Amazing. They definitely must like what they are doing. It's just awesome… it really is. I am just enjoying myself.

"You know, it's not very often you get to see a show like this. It's quite rare," he continued.

He said he has a lot of Asian friends, some of them are Chinese, and some are Taiwanese friends, but Chinese culture is quite big.

"This show shows the ancient Chinese culture. It's about art. The way the art is shown. I mean…this is an art going back 5000 years, and it is still preserved.

"Seriously. I liked the drum act, especially. I went "WOW!

"The Falun Gong performance touched me the most, the deepest. How these two ladies were being persecuted. It is one of these issues that are going on in our day and age. I mean, it's going on even today. I can relate to it, what we are going through. This is one act that I could really feel. I could relate to it very much. I would say it is magnificent," he said.

Mr Lal expressed that the Spectacular was quite different from other Chinese shows.

"This is authentic. Definitely. My two and a half hours are almost gone, so I can say that I have gotten my money's worth.

"The Falun Gong part… I think that it was very important. People need to know what's going on. I don't know much about it, but I know that it should not be persecuted," he said.
