AUCKLAND, New Zealand—On Saturday evening April 19, a delighted husband and wife departed the ASB Theatre in the Aotea Centre, after having "a very enjoyable evening" watching the Chinese Spectacular in its final New Zealand performance.

"We just saw the publicity, and thought this must be an amazingly spectacular and interesting show," explained Mr Hagon.

As it turns out, they were certainly not disappointed. Mr Hagon proclaimed the show to be "…Oh, very good. Extremely well done. Very professional. Faultless really. It was excellent, and a marvellous display of Chinese culture. Very, very good, thoroughly enjoyed it."

Mr Hagon recalled what appealed to him most: "I love the drumming, the drumming, the two drumming numbers were brilliant, brilliant, and the interpretation was very, very good, the choreography, music, fantastic. Really good, really good."

Mrs Hagon was also impressed, "Well, I thought it was excellent, lovely and colourful, beautiful costumes... Perfect, well it seemed perfect. I love that little step... when they're wearing something long, it looks as though they are just gliding in."

"Just glide along, as if they've got no feet. So controlled and so professional, beautiful," agreed Mr Hagon.

"I like the dance with the long sleeves" said Mrs Hagon. "but … it was all different, and everything was different, and just lovely and perfect. And beautiful colours."

The Hagons' had never seen a show like this before, and though they knew "a little bit" about Chinese culture before seeing the Spectacular , they admitted they "know a lot more now, and from reading the program we should know even more."

Mr Hagon felt there was an important message conveyed in the show "very well done, very clever, I like that. The interpretation of it, very good. The message needs to go to China today..."

"It's not just China, it's everywhere isn't it," suggested Mrs Hagon, "because I think standards have deteriorated anyway. And so that sort of thing is what all the world needs."

"Really amazing. Just amazing, so, brilliant, well done" concluded Mr Hagon.
