AUCKLAND, New Zealand—The dancing and choreography in the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular has been impressing audiences worldwide throughout its global tour. Dance teacher Mr Henry Kimble attended the matinee performance in Auckland's ASB Theatre on April 19 and described it as "Marvellous, Brilliant!"
He and his wife teach ballroom and Latin American dance, and Mr Kimble also judges at dance festivals.
"It's great! I would recommend it to anybody," he said. "I am very interested in dancing. It was great. I thought the drummer boys were great, very beautiful. But on a dancing note, the dancing was beautiful, very beautiful. The power and the strength … and the whole thing. The choreography, it flows very nicely with the music."
The Kimbles said they had been learning more about Chinese culture from some of their Chinese friends. They attended the show with six of their very close Chinese friends, including one little girl who was born in China who said she "liked it very much".
Mrs Kimble said: "I liked the whole thing, including the Falun Gong part of the show, as it shows what is really happening in China … The story was very good. I like all styles and types of dance and performance.
"I would recommend this show to anyone. "There's talent, lots of talent. Great stage. You have to have both. Yes, very good; it's a great show."
