AUCKLAND, New Zealand—Papatoetoe High School teacher Su Mukund saw the Chinese Spectacular in 2007 and was so impressed that, this year, she brought four of her students with her.

One of the students, 17-year-old Cat Cowl, is passionate about journalism and said she would like to write an article about the show.

"It touched me because it was so peaceful and graceful. And it was more than my expectations. It was just amazing. I almost cried. I was just in awe."

Cat said she enjoyed the whole performance, particularly the dancing. "The way they moved was flowing, like liquid. It was beautiful."

Su echoed the sentiments. "It was just lovely — very, very beautiful," she said. "There were quite a few new performances this year, [such as] the last one with the drums."

Her other three students also enjoyed the show, describing it as "brilliant". Su said one of the students is very interested in photography and had been watching the show, thinking about the different angles he could shoot.

Another student is very interested in fashion design. "She thought the costumes were excellent.

"I think each one had their own perspective and were looking at it from different perspectives."
