AUCKLAND, New Zealand—Mr Steve Cook works with lighting in the film industry and attended the matinee performance of the Chinese Spectacular on April 19 with his mother.
As an artist himself, Mr Cook said he really appreciates the effort that went into the show as it can take a huge amount of effort to produce one minute of film sometimes.
Mr Cook could see the same effort went into the show. "It's spectacular the way they all come together, you know, which is very hard to do. I know. You could spend weeks and weeks just getting one thing right," said Mr Cook.
Mr Cook was also impressed by the visual impact of the show, and said the costumes had a great effect. "It's beautiful. Beautiful dancing, lovely costumes, fantastic. All the girls are looking beautiful!"
Mr Cook said he was touched by both the movements and the music. "It's uplifting. I just love the movement and the dance, the energy that goes into it and the training.
'Water Sleeves' and 'Drummers of the Tang Court' were singled out as favourite parts of the show for Mr Cook.
"Very nice, very well done. The choreography, it's actually beautiful, you know."
