AUCKLAND, New Zealand—Morgan Dalton attended the Friday night performance of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular and felt that one of the most enjoyable parts was being able to "feel part of the story". He thought the stories were well told through the colours and costumes.

"It's a very entertaining show. You kind of get a sense of what the message is trying to tell you," he said. "You know that you can enjoy the show, but at the same time feel some of the problems that have been faced in the past and the beliefs that people have been believing as well, and maybe some of the oppressions that have been felt through, I guess, the clash of communism and people's beliefs."

Rousing Drums

Another audience member, Brent Westein, described the performance as "a spectacular dancing show". "It's really good and gets the right message out there as well," he said.

"I think the dancing is really cool and obviously the costumes... so really good. I like the last bit with the drums. I like that... rousing sort of drums.

"I love it and obviously being in Auckland, it's a multicultural city anyway, so it just sort of integrates really well."

The Chinese Spectacular will perform two more shows on Saturday.
