BUCHAREST, Romania—At the prestigious Bucharest National Theatre, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular opened to one of its strongest audience responses this year on European soil. The packed house applauded enthusiastically throughout the performance, and as the final curtain of the night fell, the whole theatre rose immediately to offer a thunderous standing ovation.

Among the enthralled crowd at the show were veteran Bucharest lawyer Liana Ionescu, with her five-year-old daughter Adriana, and 86-year-old mother Stela Mihaescu. Ms. Ionescu studied violin and vocal music in her youth.

"I liked everything. Everything was extraordinary: the theatre direction, the décors, the costumes, the dancers' grace, the divine music, the soloists," she gushed. "I may say that this show touched perfection, the whole of it."

"This is an unforgettable evening. Even though I am after 10 hours of work, I have never felt any moment of tiredness," she said, declaring how 'enthusiastic' she was about the show.

During the performance, Ms. Ionescu kept noticing that the audience was responding strongly the acts.

"I watched how touched they [the audience] were and I myself was moved to tears at those pieces with the message contained in them."

In her interview, Ms. Ionescu focused this "message" in the show that had so affected her:

"Of course, that three-word essential message, kindness, truth, tolerance, should be on the lips and in the hearts of each of us on the entire planet."

"We, Romanians found ourselves in the themes of the communist dictatorship from which we still suffer. So, I understood why the artists emigrated from China, but their thoughts are still at their country, I saw their wish of well-being for their country."

Experiencing the Chinese Spectacular reminded Ms. Ionescu of some traditional culture of her own country, which in a similar way to China's had been under attack under Romania's communist regime.

"You know, we have an old patriotic folk song in Romania – The 'Union Dance', when all the dancers hold their hands," she declared.

"I felt this tonight, but not only with the Chinese people, but with everybody: Chinese, Americans with all the people, beyond national boundaries. That's why the show makes a world tour."

As for the Chinese Embassy's interference with the show in Romania and worldwide, Ms. Ionescu commented, "It's not fair. But this is the system [in China]. I regret to see this kind of attitude."

Five-year-old Adriana, despite being initially very shy, warmed up to the Epoch Times reporter. She said she loved the music, the colours, and the white lotuses of the Tibetan dance "Snowy Mountain, White Lotus.

"It was beautiful, I liked it so much," she declared in summary.

Ionescu also noted that apart from feeling energetic, her whole family was invigorated by the performance.

"This show touched our heart, we all vibrated – that's why, as a sign of respect [at the end] we stood up.
