CANBERRA, Australia—George Pietraz, an Immigration Department public servant, came to see the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at the Canberra Theatre on Saturday evening April 12.

He commented on the colour and the beauty of the show. "The girls are so attractive and beautiful, and their make-up and some of the pieces of jewelry, the ornaments that they wear … it is just spectacular. I've never seen anything like it in my whole life. Absolutely terrific," he said. When asked how he heard about the show, Mr Pietraz said his wife heard about it and he also saw the promotion at the Belconnen Mall. "Oh, this sounds promising and I was exited [and] once the curtains opened, the light, the color, [it was] all spectacular … great."

When asked about his favourite performance, Mr Pietraz said: "The dance with the girls at the waterfall thing ['Nymphs of the Sea'] and, of course, I am a boy and I like noise, so I like the drums ['Drummers of the Tang Court' and 'Victory Drums']."

When commenting on the performance of 'The Risen Lotus Flower' where three women are imprisoned for following the Chinese spiritual discipline Falun Gong, Mr Pietraz said: "… it is quite interesting to see the interpretation of that dance. This is a democracy and you have the right to show whatever you wanted to dance. It is a big issue and it was an impression in a very lovely way."

When asked if he would recommend the show to his friends, he said that on Monday when he goes back to work he would definitely recommend that people go and see it next year.

Mr Pietraz was really impressed and concluded: "With 5000 years of culture, they have a lot to show for it."
