TAMPERE, Finland—Markus Vuouahti and Pirko Vakimies were astounded by the colors of the Chinese Spectacular, playing at Finland's Tampere Hall on March 31.

"The first scene when I saw all these colors, it was a little bit of a shock for the eye because in Finland and in Europe we are used to more moderate classical style," said Markus, managing director of a software company.

Soon after the show started, he said, "…all these colors were [in] your eyes… very soon I got used to it and after that it was just nice, very colorful…"

Pirko and Markus are both from Tampere, and neither had seen a traditional Chinese cultural show before, "I have been in China many times so in some restaurants or some places I have visited there were some performances in traditional Chinese ways but not like this," Pirko explained.

She thought the costumes were "brilliant" and the drums "fantastic."

When Markus was asked what he thought of the show, he replied immediately, "Of course I liked it!"

He said evening was a "Very rich experience for all your senses, something for your ears and something for your eyes. Very nice."
