BRATISLAVA, Slovakia—Divine Performing Arts’ Chinese Spectacular played at Bratislava’s sold out National Opera House Sunday evening to a delighted audience.
“I think it was a beautiful, emotional experience for me to see something like this because this was the first time I’ve seen a little bit of culture from China,” said Vierka Ayisi, a hip-hop dancer, singer, and songwriter who was among the audience.
“I like the dancing and I like the costumes; it was very colorful.”
Ms. Ayisi remarked that she was inspired by the dancing in Chinese Spectacular : “It’s different movement and different expression. I love it. I’m going to take my inspiration from it and use it in my dancing.”
Fredy Ayisi, a dancer of 24 years who also enjoys yoga and karate, is a fan of Chinese culture and history and enjoyed the show.
“It was very good to hear this kind of music live. I love Chinese culture, Chinese history as well as philosophy, and for me it was very positive. It was a beautiful experience full of positive energy, and that is great when something comes in that is so nice, tender and smooth,” he said. “I liked the singing. That was incredible.”
Mr. Vierka also exclaimed, "I liked just about everything of the show. The Erhu was very impressive, also the Mongolian dance, the imitation of the horse riding, and the Nymphs of the Sea dance were beautifully produced. Overall, the costumes were beautiful."
"The dances were amazing because of the perfection and fluidity. I am satisfied-it was beautiful, and very positive."
Vierka concluded that she’d definitely see the show in the future. “I think that I would like to see it again. I’m sure that if you come again to our country I’ll make sure I see it again.”
