VIENNA, Austria—Traude Pfeffer and her friend believe in fate—and won their way to see the Chinese Spectacular through a raffle.

"The evening's events were impressive. No matter if it was dance, singers or the drummers—one was able to relax wonderfully," Ms. Pfeffer said.

"I am actually taking the memory of the entire evening home and will have to mull it over in my mind for several days. It was fantastic," raved Pfeffer. Her friend had entered a newspaper competition to win tickets. The Vienna Neustaedter newspaper appeared in their mailbox, and Ms. Pfeffer said they should win the tickets, "and I said, OK, I will win the tickets -- no problem!"

Ms. Pfeffer liked how the dances were connected with so many different colors.

"This was also something beautiful and I always had the dream that I would see one day a Chinese ballet or dance, and today the dream came true."

Her friend had taken refuge at the Lopoen Tsechu Rinpoche in Hathmandu in 2001 and had walked on the Buddhist path since that day. The Spectacular even encouraged her to continue what she is doing.

She said, "Much was revealed [about] what is forbidden in today's China, what one is not allowed to do."

"For example, talking about Tibet, I am flying in my garden the Tibetan flag almost year-around, because I don't agree with what is happening there. I was part of the Tibet movement and am denied entry into Tibet. I once went there secretly, when the old Lhasa still existed," she said.

When asked how she joined the Buddhist faith, she said, "I don't really know. I think it was meant to be and then it happened in 2001 -- in a monastery in Nepal. It found me."

She concluded, "My heart is filled with joy that I could be here."

After today's show in Vienna, the Spectacular will play in Bratislava on Sunday, carrying on to Prague for more shows next week. A total of 35 shows will be seen in 14 European countries.
