VIENNA, Austria—"This is the first time that I immersed myself in Chinese culture and I must say that I'm absolutely thrilled by it," said Gerald Kern, master builder of the Chinese Spectacular on Friday night.
"Everything I saw was interesting for me."
He was especially taken by the dances, "They were easy to understand, very colorful and I think they were spectacular. In my opinion, the dancers and artists gave their best, and one has to definitely watch this show live."
"The scene which touched me the most was the one about the Lotus Flowers ['The Risen Lotus Flower']," continued Kern.
The scene depicts three women who are imprisoned because they practice the Chinese spiritual practice of Falun Gong.
"This is...I just don't know why, this is a performance or scene that perhaps reminds me in my deepest thoughts about something that I'm unable to express. This is the type of scene that touched me personally the most."
After today's show in Vienna, the Spectacular will play in Bratislava on Sunday, carrying on to Prague for more shows next week. A total of 35 shows will be seen in 14 European countries.
