VIENNA—Erich Reismueller doesn't want it to be known how much money he paid for the two Chinese Spectacular VIP tickets that were auctioned off during an Economics Ball they attended recently—but the proceeds of the auction were given for a good cause and used for the advancement of children. At the same time they were meant as a birthday present for his wife Friederike.
Mrs Reismueller, mayor of Forchtenstein, a township of around 2,800 people in Nordburgenstein, celebrated her birthday two days ago, on March 5th.
She saw it as a great birthday present, "One does not get a birthday present like that very often."
She spoke enthusiastically about the dancing feat and of the arias of the soloists, the Soprano Min Jiang and the Contralto Jiansheng Yang.
"I often go to see operettas and if possible I also go and see an opera. But the performance of these two ladies was outstanding. I liked the show very much. It is a great medley and one can find something for all tastes. I would be happy if you would bring the show to Vienna next year," said Mrs. Reismueller.
"I liked especially the Mongolian Bowl Dance, and the scene 'Snowy Mountain. White Lotus,' a Tibetan dance. The choreographer thought carefully over what is happening in today's times."
Mr. Erik Reismueller described the show as very beautiful and unique, "We have never seen something like this in Austria. Therefore, we are very happy that we had the tickets and could come to this show.
"I am very impressed with the skill and the culture that was shown on this small stage, be it the waterfall or the dancers. Already in the beginning they descended from heaven. Everything was just fantastic."
He especially liked the scene 'The Loyalty of Yue Fei'. He said "how the soldier was drafted to fight in a war and the mother said goodbye- it was really very emotional."
After today's show in Vienna, the Spectacular will play in Bratislava on Sunday, carrying on to Prague for more shows next week. A total of 35 shows will be seen in 14 European countries.
