KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—Currently playing in Kaohsiung, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular continues to enthrall audiences with its unique portrayal of Chinese culture.

Yang Zhiqiang, director of a performance group called the Heavenly Performing Arts Troupe, admired the professionalism of the Spectacular . "The dancers are all well trained. Their movements have many details. They all have good basic training. Music was well done and matched the stories. The choreographers were able to capture the essence of the music."

He said the dancers integrated the stage and the projected background screen very well, and there were several dances that used multiple media. "This was very innovative and moving," said Yang, adding that his favourite piece was Lady of the Moon .

Yang said that he thought the main theme of the Spectacular was about basic human respect.

"One example would be the persecution of Falun Gong in China. However, I think it's not just Falun Gong. This also applies to interpersonal relationships and one's view of the things around them. It would be better if everyone could be considerate of one another. I think it's very important that people respect each other."

Chen Yuecun, who plays first trombone at the Municipal Folk Orchestra, said after the show, "The composer is wonderful—both the melody and momentum are great."

Chen said Victory Drums was his favorite piece. "I feel that it's very powerful!"
