TAINAN CITY—Two professors from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan were amazed by the Chinese New Year Spectacular show in Tainan City on March 1, 2008. Professor Ren Meimei said she enjoyed all the performances, especially the dance, Power of Awareness . "When people sat down one row after another in the last scene," she said, "I felt all people united together with the same thoughts."

Professor Ren thought that the Spectacular conveyed a message telling people to slow down their footsteps and take time to think over those things we had neglected in our daily life. She said that all the dancers are very soft and flexible, very professional. It was the first time she had seen the Spectacular and she brought her daughter with her.

Associate Professor Zhan Shihuang is also from the National Cheng Kung University. He returned to the show after seeing it last year. He said his favorite dance was Risen Lotus . In one of the scenes of this dance a Falun Gong practitioner was beaten by Chinese police; the music came to a sudden pause and he said he felt the great compassion flowing from the dancer's inner soul, which almost moved him to tears. He had difficulty controlling his feelings for a long time.

Professor Zhan also liked the Power of Awareness . Upon seeing people standing up to uphold justice and combating the totalitarian rulers, he felt "it is precisely what we need in our society."

Professor Zhan commented that the Spectacular would "Undoubtedly improve social morality. For example, the Spectacular demonstrates loyalty, filial piety, moral integrity and righteousness. When people fight against totalitarianism with righteousness, they represent the shining side of humanity. Even programs like 'The ladies of the Manchu Court' helps to alleviate the violent trend in society. They are all very helpful in uplifting social moral standard."

The two professors both said they would recommend the Spectacular to their friends and students.
