PARIS—The Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular ended its run at the Palais des Congrès in Paris on Sunday with great success and to a standing ovation at the conclusion of the show.

As many audience members remarked, the show did not only present dance accompanied by an orchestra and vocal performances; it was beyond beauty and grace, with each gesture transmitting something deeper: a state of being, a feeling, a moral commitment.

Referring to the piece "The Risen Lotus Flower," about the persecution of the spiritual practice Falun Gong in China, Mr. Jean-Michel Laty, general manager at the BRED Banque Populaire, said, "I was very touched by the dance where the three persons are imprisoned."

Among the audience members, many shed tears.

The piece depicts the peaceful response of the three imprisoned young women, who practice Falun Gong, at the hands of their persecuting jailers.

Mr. Laty liked the show very much altogether: the dances, the colors, and the music; however, he felt particularly moved when human rights and art were brought together on stage. It gave the show deeper meaning, and many audience members applauded warmly during those moments.
