TAMPERE, Finland — Sirpa Pursiainen and Samma Majakari, who attended the second performance of Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at Tampere Hall in Finland on Monday evening, spoke later about their impression of the show.
"I was really impressed and I think the whole story was really telling about how we people are always searching for the meaning of life and why we are here," said Pursiainen, a social worker by trade and a Christian.
"I think the story was about how we want to find who we are and how we're searching for answers and the truth. I think the performance was very much talking about that."
Divine Performing Arts has been spearheading a renaissance of Chinese true traditional culture. Embedded in many of the show's dance and musical pieces are the virtues that were lived by in ancient China, such as courage, loyalty, honesty, filial piety, compassion, faith, and search for spiritual truth.

"I think that was really beautiful how they brought up the message. I think this entire performance was telling how hard it was in China if you think differently," said Pursiainen.
"I feel like I have found the answer and the meaning of life."
Majakari , a nurse who is also a Christian, was impressed with the artistic side of the show.
"It was beautiful performance. The people who made it are very talented. And the story behind everything was very beautiful. I'm still processing all the things I have seen and heard," said Majakari.
"The instrumental [pieces] were very beautiful, I loved those. And the acrobatic movements, the drums and also the erhu." Pursiainen said she has visited Asia and seen culture shows there. However, this one is different.
"I would say that this show here in Tampere is the most beautiful performance that I have seen here.
"What is different with this compared to many others is that people were not just acting. It's like they were meaning what they were doing and you were able to see that. That's why the performance really touches your heart."
Pursiainen added that freedom of belief is important.
"We should have the freedom to believe in the way we believe and we should love each other…. [The show is] telling a story and it was telling it in a good way. How we act towards each other, that's what the story was about." Her friend said she agreed.
