TAMPERE, Finland—As the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular plays its second show at Finland's Tampere Hall, audience members continue to praise the unique cultural show.

Among the audience at Monday's show was Nina Mikkolainin, a special aid for handicapped children, and her aunt, Tujia Kahiluoto.

"I think it was very special for me because I don't know anything about China. I liked the color, it was therapy. The nice colors were like color therapy," said Mikkolanin. Kahiluoto agreed with her niece, noting that she had visited China many times in her life. She was impressed with the Spectacular.

"It was fine, very fine. I have a travelled in China four times ... [ Spectacular ] is fantastic," said Kahiluoto. Henry Taino, a designer, also thoroughly enjoyed the Spectacular.

"The show was excellent. Overall I think the show was just fantastic. The dancing sequences and the songs and the costumes were just awesome. They're very pretty and the dances are spectacular."

Taino said that he's studying Chinese and felt he could understand the show and that he gained insight on how Chinese people think and their cultural traditions.

"I'm actually studying Chinese, I just began studying Chinese. It's nice to understand because it gives me more of a picture."

"[It showed me] their way of thinking. How Chinese people think about nature, for example. How they think about life itself."

Taino saw a contrast between the subject matter in Chinese dance and Western dance such as ballet.

"Well, the difference is actually that Chinese shows are based more on [historical] tales and these kind of things, while western shows and ballet are [fictional] tales. So it's a bit different. "
