MELBOURNE—"I enjoyed the show, but it's hard to describe. It's very different to western dancing and singing," explained John Xu, originally from mainland China and a former engineer with Telstra.
Mr Xu's favourites were the fan dances, Nymphs of the Sea and Water Sleeves.
"I liked the drumming as well, it really woke me up." "I feel good," said Mr Xu after the show.
When asked if he is coming next year, he replied "absolutely". He had also seen the Divine Performing Arts last year in Melbourne. "They are both quite good," he recollected.
This year's show "was good because a lot of the dances I've never seen before, like the Mongolian dances. Quite a few of the dances were quite new, they were similar but not the same as last year.
"I really enjoy Chinese shows, they don't come to Australia very often, so for me, because I was born in China, I have a special connection to this.
I'm lucky because I've got the Chinese culture as well as the Australian culture."
