MELBOURNE, Australia—The Divine Performing Arts show made the audience feel "very fresh" and "pleasant", said Mr Yang, a Chinese migrant who saw the Chinese Spectacular in Melbourne on Saturday.
The dances were "very beautiful", the costumes and backdrops "marvellous", he said. The show was "very pure" and in "great harmony". In particular, he was very impressed by the male host, as he is a Westerner who can speak very fluent Mandarin.
Mr Yang, who travels frequently between China and Australia, says the Chinese Spectacular can help people understand the pure traditional culture. This is in stark contrast to Mainland China shows, which are "very commercial and political". He believes that if the Chinese Spectacular could be shown in the mainland, many, many people would come to watch it.
Ms Chen, who accompanied Mr Yang, said it is "very precious" for people to see the true traditional Chinese culture in the Western world. Especially, with the impact of Western culture, it is very hard for younger generations to know what true Chinese culture and tradition is.
