MELBOURNE, Australia—Douglas Chang-yee Wong, a Chinese-Australian restaurant owner from Melbourne, attended the Saturday matinee performance of Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular.

His overall impression of the show was: "Beautiful! Good dances, beautiful girls. I thought the costumes were number one. I'm proud to be Chinese, and proud to be an Aussie, too."

Mr. Wong's favourite performance was the drumming finale, which he said reminded him of his father.

"It was a beautiful show," said Mr. Wong. "Especially the last bit where all the men have the drums in the symbol. My dad, when he was 17 or 18, used to do a show like that, 'Boom! Boom! Boom!' It made me cry."

"I've been here in Australia for 50 years, and I really love my own culture, I love it. But I love Australia too. Australia's a great country, but I'm still Chinese."
