MELBOURNE,Australia—Originally from Malaysia, Melbourne pastry chef Danny Kuan and wife Jean make a point of attending performances of Chinese culture.
"We like to see a lot of historical performances if possible. More historical performances to enlighten younger generations because we like to know the history of China," said Mr Kuan.
"We've read about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms; there's a lot of history in it which would be good if certain parts could be performed, to enhance the knowledge involved for us".
When asked about which parts they enjoyed the most Ms Kuan mentioned the water nymphs and her husband said ,"The drums would be the best, the girls dancing with the sleeves and the fan dancing." He also enjoyed the story about the loyalty of Yue Fei "That's the one which we haven't heard before." Mr Kuan said.
The couple left elated and looking forward to learning more about ancient Chinese culture.
"It was very nice, the dance was nice, very authentic. The show had a lot of individuality… looks like we might have a trip back to China."
