STOCKHOLM, Sweden—The Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular has been well received during its five-show run at Stockholm's Circus Theater. So much so, in fact, that an additional show has been scheduled for April 3.
Bjorn Gullstrom, a retired lawyer, thought the show was so good he found it difficult to choose his favourite performance.
"It is difficult to compare. They are so handsome, the girls are smaller than Swedish. I like their movements, so soft," he said.
"I think the impression is to see the colours on the clothing, and to see how they move so exactly. They are small and they dance not like the Swedes. We are not used to this, the music or the dancers."
Mr. Gullstrom also attended last year's Spectacular. "I have seen this before ... it is very wonderful ... the best you can see," he said.
"And I like the music too. It is special music. I like it very much … fantastic."
Other happy show goers were Corina Lindqvist and her husband.
Mr. Lindqvist, a retiree from the pulp and paper industry, said he has traveled to China where he has seen shows "different from this."
When asked what his favorite part was, he said, "I think the dancers. I think the girls I like."
Mrs. Lindqvist, a manager with Sweden's largest telecommunications company said, "I like the drummers I think the drummers are great."
She also commented on the Chinese Embassy's attempts to block the Stockholm shows.
"It seems like a very stupid thing to do. We have freedom of speech and you know whether it is the theatre or singing or writing or whatever we are free to express our opinions here and that's the way it should be."
