STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Gitte Lindblom attended the Chinese Spectacular at Stockholm's Circus Theater, on the evening of March 24. Ms. Lindblom stated, "I am overwhelmed! I think it was fantastic and extraordinary!"
She continued, "The colors, the music, and the performance, as well as the history of traditional Chinese culture that they showed—all of these came together. When someone asked me which performance I liked the best, I couldn't say, because one comes after another, and it's better and better all the time!"
Regarding her occupation Ms. Lindblom said, "Sometimes I do exhibitions, [create] peaceful surroundings for people to help them find calm inside. It [the Spectacular ] is a very beautiful surrounding as well. Based on the four elements, air, earth, fire, and water."
She feels the show's message added to her life, and gave her an impression of Falun Gong, "I think that is a very good message. The three words [Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance] mentioned are essential for human beings. I would like to give more to others as well, just as they did here. That is what I received from the performance overall."
Ms. Lindblom mused about how she might pass on this message. "Well, I will think of it even more when I am…" she stopped mid-sentence and then said, "Well, I am trying to be a good person and give to others, this spiritual felling, the love and the holy side of myself, but I realize this even more from the show. As well as the art, the singing, the dancing, and everything else."
When asked if she knew of the attempt made by the Chinese Embassy to stop the show, she said, "I feel sorry for them. Sorry in my heart that they don't understand better. I think they should open their hearts and minds a little more."
Ms. Lindblom continued, "Well, it was an outstanding performance that you can't find anywhere else. I would like to take my father. I think of him all the time. He is 87 years old. I would like him here to see the show. I will probably buy him and his fiancé a ticket so they can come and see the show. I would like him to see it because he is very old, and I don't think he will have a chance to see it again."
She commented on how traditional Chinese Culture was presented, "It was done in many ways, because in between the performances the show hostess presented something about what we were going to see, and she explained about the traditional dancing, singing, and movements. So I think I received a very clear message about this."
