STOCKHOLM, Sweden—The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular drew a big crowd for its premiere at Stockholm's Circus Theatre on Thursday. The audience applauded during the popular cultural show and demanded two curtain calls as the performers took their bows.
Alexander Nielson and Benny Sorensson, good friends from Stockholm, enjoyed the show and look forward to telling their friends about it.
"Colorful and beautiful," Neilson commented.
"Very Beautiful, very beautiful" said his friend Sorensson.
Neilson is involved in the branding industry in Stockholm and Sorensson is a jewellery salesman.
"The colorful clothing and the coordination between the actors," was what Neilson admired most about the Spectacular.
His friend agreed. "I especially enjoyed the drum show. I think that's a guy thing. It's so calm and beautiful and everything. So it was quite nice when they were doing it a little bit faster and a little bit louder. I like that."
Neilson appreciated gaining more knowledge of Chinese culture by seeing the show. "Especially in the songs when you can read the texts. They want to express how in China there's a lack of freedom.
"But mostly it's amazing to see the color of the clothes and the coordination. Everything is done at exactly the same time like it's computerized but its human people. That's amazing"
"They must have done a lot of practice to get where they are now," said Sorensson. "They must be very dedicated…"
Neilson commented that the venue seemed too small. "They should enter the Globe next time in Stockholm." The Globe Arena is the largest spherical building in the world – its theater holds up to 13,000 people.
"But this is also new to the audience in Sweden so next year it will be easier to bring up more people and also a have bigger venue I think. Takes one year to establish — the next year it's going to be easier."
