STOCKHOLM—Matthias works as a marketing employee for a software company that specializes in speech technology. He took his 10-year-old daughter to the Chinese Spectacular at the Circus Theater in Stockholm on Thursday evening.
"I thought it was really spectacular, really nice, even for my daughter, 10 years old. It had all the dance and song and colors and the spirit. We really liked it," he said.
"I liked the mix of it all. I really liked the music and the violin. The Chinese violin was beautiful, really beautiful. And the power of the drums—that's my favorite."
He said the erhu was "full of spirit."
"There's always the magic about it and the religion. And all the beliefs [of China]."
He said the digital backdrop gave the show extra power and visual impact.
John Benson, a graphic designer, was also at the show.
He said, "I really think people would enjoy it—200 percent."
"This is beautiful, intelligent work here. I was most impressed with the quality of the show. This is so new to us."
He said enjoyed the performances that depicted Falun Gong.
"We all know the Falun Gong is under pressure. The world is complex … we just try and pray for peace. These messages [in the show] are good for that."
His wife enjoyed every part of the show: "Everything was good, everything was good, not just one program, but everything about it was good."
Mr. Benson said "the combination of everything in the show was good" and they would come back next year.
