When it comes to creating a stunning complexion, always remember that the less you use of the product, the better. The following are some tips when applying foundation, blush, eye makeup, and lip color.
1. Apply moisturizer to your face, massage the product in well. At this stage, if you wish, you can apply a primer, which will smooth the skin and give your makeup a long-lasting hold.
2. Apply a small amount of foundation (choose a color closest to your skin tone) with your fingertips in downward and outward movements. Blend it in well with a foundation brush.
Hide dark circles with a concealer, be careful not to use too much product, and also that the shade is not too light as this can create a gray effect around the eyes. Apply a little concealer in the inner corner of the eye to add some brightness, and a touch on the arch of the eyebrow to help open the eyes.
To give a professional finish to your foundation, apply loose face powder in a translucent shade or a medium shade. Apply lightly over the entire face with a powder brush or powder puff with a gentle press and roll movement. Do not rub.

Image consultant Nicole Davenport of the Peninsula Salon in Beverly Hills offers these suggestions to use for all styles of makeup.
Eyeliner: Liquid eyeliner with a brush works well, as does cream or gel eyeliner.
Mascara: Do not use the waterproof mascara—it is too hard to remove. Apply layer upon layer for more effect.
Eyeshadows: Start by applying the lighter shades first, then move to the darker ones. Don't overwhelm your natural eye color. For today's look the eyeshadow must be well-blended. A concealer can be used as a base under the eyeshadow to keep it looking good longer.
For your lips: Try emphasizing your lips by using lip liner; see if it makes a difference.
Makeup brushes: Don't forget to wash all brushes frequently.
For today's overall look: For eye makeup keep it clean, not too heavy, especially if your hair color is good. And if your eyes are done well, you only need to add lipstick for a very natural look.

3. Now you are ready to apply your blush. Remember, blushes can give great shape to your face and give an instant radiant glow. Smile naturally to show the exact spot where the blush is to be applied. Pick up just a little on your blush brush and apply to the cheekbone, or under the apple of the cheek (your face shape will determine how and where to apply your blush), and blend the color backwards towards the ear lobes.
4. Now to the eyes, which they say are the mirrors of the soul. Such an important feature as they can give away so much of us. It is also said that our eyes change color with our moods. For day makeup pick a neutral shade.
Start with a highlighter and apply all over the eyelid and up to the brow bone. This will also help to fix the color.
Now apply the main color to the eyelid in circular movements or in strokes with either fingertips or eyeshadow brush. You can intensify the result by applying a slightly stronger version of the main color to the center of the eyelid or the outer corner of the eye. Always tap the eyeshadows brush before applying to the eye to shake off excess eyeshadows, as shadow sometimes tends to fall under the eye.
To further define the eye you can apply eyeliner to the eyelid and use fingers to blend in the color. Apply eyeliner softly underneath bottom lashes and blend with a little eyeshadows to soften the effect.
5. Next is mascara. There are some fabulous mascaras on the market. Be sure to take your time applying mascara and you will see the results. You can use an eyelash curler before application.
Apply mascara in zigzag fashion for extra volume and curl; or look halfway down and let the brush catch the lashes, hold for the count of five, release brush, and repeat until you have the desired effect. Build up a few applications with the mascara brush and this gives definite full-bodied lashes.
6. Finally the lips. Don't forget to take into consideration the color of your eyeshadows and blush when choosing lip color to ensure that it is all color-coordinated and well-blended.
First, apply a lip balm to moisturize and smooth the lips. Then, if needed, use a lip-defining pencil, the same color as the lip color you have chosen. Next, apply lip color with lip brush and place a tissue over it to fix the result. Repeat the process again to intensify lip color and hold. Apply a gloss to soften the result.
Now, step back, take a final look in the mirror, and you are ready to go!
