This weekend, Paris welcomed the Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular at the Palais des Congrès. The audience enjoyed and appreciated the high caliber of the show.

Business student Audrey said, "It was magical! Frankly, magnificent! It was like a dream. It was very enchanting. There were lots of colors. Everything was superb—the singers, the drums, the dancers—everything. I didn't know where to look. It was sublime. I liked the dances with the drums, but I preferred the dances with the fans."

For some, the music made the show.

"My favorite was the erhu, the one with the erhu and the piano. For me, it was the most beautiful moment of the show," commented her father Silvain, an administrative manager in a communication company.

He also enjoyed the dances and the drums. He says they were superb. He also mentioned that you can't find anything like this in classical shows.

Audrey said, "Everything is to be discovered, everything is to be learned. I rediscovered myths I had read when I was much, much younger, and to see it in a show was fantastic."

The music of the Divine Performing Arts' orchestra impressed many audience members. Jessi, an engineering student liked not only the drums and the Mongolian bowl dance, but also was fascinated by the music.

"I'm amazed by the orchestra— the mixture of Oriental and Western instruments. I am speechless. It was very beautiful."

The Spectacular also inspired Jessi to find out more about China and its culture.

"I discovered the Chinese legends—it's a country I am interested in. It made me want to learn more about it."

After Paris, the Divine Performing Arts tour will continue on to Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
