PARIS—Isabelle Reux-Brown, management director of a large French investment company, attended the first performance of the Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular. She came with her daughter Florence, who is a fan of traditional Chinese culture and is attracted by its 5,000 years of culture.
"This was a total discovery for me," said Mrs. Reux-Brown. "We came here to discover. Before the show, we did not know what to expect, and we are enchanted. Generally, it's visually beautiful: the costumes, colors, and movements.
"In the 'Snowy Mountain, White Lotus' dance, with the dancers with the long sleeves, the harmony of the colors is remarkable. I was impressed by the dance 'Nymphs of the Sea' where the movements of the waves were perfectly imitated. The theme in the piece 'The Risen Lotus Flower,' in the story of the three women imprisoned because they practice the spiritual discipline Falun Gong, is very inspiring, especially at the moment where the one who dies because of the persecution travels to the heavens and brings comfort to the others. It's very well-done!"
