PARIS—Currently playing at the grand Palais des Congres in Paris, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular continues to delight audiences with its unique portrayal of Chinese culture.
Virgine Le Renard, a software analyst and developer, attended Saturday's show.
"It was great. I specially like the drums, both of the dances with drums. I like how it sounds — very powerful. I felt very good watching the show," said Renard.
"This is the first time for me to watch a show like this, so it was a bit difficult to understand the ancient stories from China, but I like them very much."
Anthonypillai Nathan, a university student from Sri Lanka, said the Spectacular was "very good, interesting and colorful."
Pillai also enjoyed the drumming acts, and said he could easily understand the meaning of the song lyrics.
"I can understand them with music and dance movement. I can follow the meaning of the songs through the translations on the backdrops — really a good idea to have them on the backdrops. I also like the meaning of the songs. They are historical, especially when you think about the life and the subject they were singing about."
After Paris, the Divine Performing Arts tour will continue on to Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
