First Round of Epoch Times Photography Contest Complete

The first round selection of over 13,500 photos received from 61 countries and regions has been finalized, announced the organizers of The Epoch Times 2007 International Photography Competition on March 16.

The evaluation of the photos was conducted by professional photographers, photo reporters, and TV program producers from United States, New Zealand, Taiwan, Canada, and Germany. After a careful evaluation, the top 160 photos from 27 countries were chosen as the winners of the first round of selection.

The organizing committee of the contest will hold a photo exhibition for the winning photos in New York City. All the photographers with entries that made it through the first round of selection will be invited to attend the exhibition, where their photo(s) will be showcased. The Champion (overall winner) of the Epoch Times 2007 International Photography Competition, as well as the winners of one Gold Medal, two Silver Medals, 4 Bronze Medals and 20 Excellence Awards for the three categories http://en.epochtimes.com/news/7-11-18/62093.html
will be announced at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, when the awards and prizes will also be issued.

The first round qualifiers need to provide original high resolution digital file(s) of your selected photo(s) by April 20, 2008. If the original is a slide or film negative, please provide a high resolution, professionally scanned copy – these are necessary for the judges to decide on the final contest winners.. Not submitting the digital photo file by the above date will be as a withdrawal from the contest. The overall winners of the contest will be announced after the judges are able assess the images.

As a qualifier listed in the following table, you will receive a notice from the organizing committee with instructions on how to send in your high resolution digital files by March 22. If you, as a qualifier, have not received our notice by this date, please contact us immediately by sending an email to photo2007@epochtimes.com. This Email account is only used for communication with the organizers if there are problems, not for sending in your photos.
