TAIPEI—Lin Li-li, president of the International Women's Association in Taipei City, Taiwan, attended Taipei's premiere of the Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular on March 15, 2008. She was joined by vice president Fong Wen-ying.

Attending the show in splendid attire, Ms. Lin applauded the Spectacular for its presentation of beauty, strength and spirit. When asked about the spirit of the show to which she referred, she replied, "Loyalty, filial piety, integrity and justice." She said that as the performance has exquisite connotations of Chinese culture, she would recommend more association members coming to the show next year.

"It is so heart-stirring to see the Spectacular , as all the acts are based on traditional Chinese culture. Take the 'Lady of the Moon' for example. Seeing the nine suns scorching the earth and withering the crops, Ho-Yih came to shoot down eight of them to relieve the suffering of the common people. I could not help crying upon seeing only a single sun left on the backdrop. I came to realize how blessed we are to live with only one sun. I was really impressed and touched," said Fong Wen-ying.

Born in Malaysia, Fong moved to Taiwan after getting married 27 years ago. She received a Western education in Malaysia and had little opportunity to know much about Chinese history and its ancient culture. She said that she was very glad to see the Spectacular , and was really touched by the high quality of the program.

"It was really very touching to see the show, as every act was based on a touching story and performed perfectly," exclaimed Fong. "I really enjoyed the Spectacular . It is excellent, really excellent! "
