A bright smile after the performance - Angelika Müller. (Matthias Kehrein/EDT)

BERLIN—Angelika Müller was inspired to talk philosophically on Sunday night, after she had spontaneously decided to come to the Chinese Spectacular at Berlin's ICC.

An independent businesswoman from Berlin, she works in international marketing and found the performance to be a huge enrichment for people worldwide.

"I was very impressed by the show. I have to say, I was really deeply touched. It touches the senses, because it is so gentle and so perfect and because so much love shines through. I have not been able to experience this in such depth and in this manner. The show grows on you after a while. In the beginning you are just carried away by the wonderful costumes and the backdrop but after a while you notice the true beauty and the depth and the values that are behind it. It comes across in a very subtle way. It is really inspiring to think about it on your own, especially the three issues Truth, Compassion, Tolerance and how they relate to our interactions on earth. It is a real challenge of our times and our generation to come to grips with it. I believe that we need these values in order to get along with each other. It is a wonderful way to use art in order to express it and to make it understood and to not use force but to use love and gentleness. I have to say, they did a very, very good job with that."

"I can only spread the message, so that the show will attract more viewers and more people will see it. I think there must be many people by now who are afraid of this huge country, China. I was really relieved to see that there is much more behind the Chinese culture that should be brought to life and that should come out in the open. It will make the world a better place and it will enrich humankind. We can only support it to help bring it to life. Although the situation is extreme in China, they also have this miraculous beauty and I think if we pay attention to this once more, it can be re-awakened. It is the way. We have to move away from violence and struggle; it just brings endless suffering that's no use to anyone."

She thought carefully before describing what she though were the highlights of the performance. "I have to say, the little girl was really impressive – she is already a real artist with her heart and soul. She is very self-confident and you can tell. I had the feeling that she was carried by this energy and it is wonderful to see because children pick up these things so easily, and they can just as easily project it outward again. I mean, it is important to convey this to the children; it is the right way for them to learn – they will be able to do it on their own later. It was really a highlight in my opinion."

"In the beginning there was also a very colorful part with monks and pink fairies. It was a very impressive interplay to watch how these battling colors were playing with each other and created excitement.

"There was also one picture about the topic Truth, Compassion and Tolerance... The effects were just unbelievable. Whenever you move in the right direction, all the other people will come along with you. Well, I was really impressed by that.

"There are many times when we hit boundaries and we know it just can't go on anymore, we have to take another route. I think that Shen Yun (Divine Performing Arts) has a good chance. In the end, I think that truth will last forever. It is high time that we rediscover and recognize this."
