BERLIN—Knut Mildner-Spindler, District Councilman for Social Welfare at the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg Municipality, and his wife were in the Chinese Spectacular audience on March 15 at the ICC Berlin.

The District Councilman was impressed with the performance, "This was wonderful and interesting. It also showed something different, something we had not seen yet."

He gave special mention to the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance', while his wife was more impressed with the powerful drums ['Drummers of the Tang Court' and 'Victory Drums'].

She also enjoyed the Tibetan dancers with the long white sleeves ['Snowy Mountain, White Lotus']. She said, "If I'm not able to go to China, China comes to me. Now, I have seen something from China."

Three friends from Dresden came specifically to see the Chinese Spectacular in Berlin.

Frank Nestler, a musician, came to see the Chinese Spectacular with two Chinese friends. A Chinese lady invited him and he thought it was a good idea. The saxophone player was quite taken with the music and said he will encourage his fellow musicians to come and hear this show.

One of the Chinese ladies lives in Dresden. She loved the Chinese Spectacular and said, "The colors, the costumes and naturally the music," were very good. "Naturally I'm very proud of this. It is after all Chinese culture."

A female theater prompter, the person who helps actors if they forget their lines, shared her impression of the show, "The flowing [of the water], the movement was unearthly -- the harmony! I think I learned a lot. I think that the body posture and the mind are much more connected in China than in our culture, they seem to form a connection. The women are sinuous just like blooms."
