BERLIN—Marie Ghiselaine Henrison, Mauritius Ambassador to Germany, attended the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular on Saturday at Berlin's International Conference Center. She had high praise for the show.
"The dancer, the ladies as well as the men, were wonderful. I liked especially the drums, because of the rhythm. The piece shows strength and youth, all things I admire. They are not that different from the African drums," said Henrison.
"The music and the vocalists were also very good. I really liked the songs a lot. I like classical music, I like opera. I had lots of fun."
So did Henrison's great-granddaughter, Fiona, who said, "One can not see such a show like this every day. I liked it very much and I have also learned a lot."
Henrison also commented on the costumes, all of which are originally designed and handmade.
"The costumes were beautiful, the colors, the design, everything. The Chinese culture is such a wonderful culture, full of poetry and legends. That is why I also have brought my great-granddaughter with me, because I like to let her know something about all cultures."
