BERLIN—Architect and yoga teacher Volker Neuard was very moved by the Chinese Spectacular , saying Chinese culture still exists in the world.
"I feel moved, cause I saw that it is an example of the real Chinese culture and I see that they wanted to show us that there is this culture still living here today. To see the roots of this very old culture," he said.
He enjoyed the masculine dance performances, saying he particularly enjoyed the singing.
"On the one hand I liked the battle shows. It was in the beginning and later with the yellow and the flags [Victory Drums]. This was moving on the one hand. But particularly when they were singing, I don't understand what they sing but I can read it, and it is coming into my heart when I hear this."
"In the beginning I was impressed by the images," he said referring to the large digital backdrop, "and also when the woman was singing about values. Spread your values, social values, this was where her voice came into my heart."
His friend who accompanied him to the show practices Tai Chi, some Chinese philosophic sports, and qigong.
"I think it [Chinese culture] lives everywhere now today," Mr Neuard said. "Not in China but more outside."
He said people who would like more knowledge about China should see the show. "I would tell them there are very lovely pictures and very rooted in the Chinese society," he said.
