BERLIN—The premier of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular received standing ovations and three curtain calls in Berlin on Friday.
Embassy of Peru Cultural Department assistant Margarita Barbacastro said the show transformed her mood. "When I came here to see this show I was very tired because I had a very hard day at work, and when I came it was changed completely because it [the performance] is so so so so soft and delicate."
"I feel myself going in to another world. I have to say that is the truth; it is very very very very beautiful - life."
She said the female and male dancers were very professional and the costumes were fantastic.
"I can imagine everything is a work of art - the design."
She said the dancers use the space very well.
"And the technique, the technique that I was for a short time talking to you, I never saw this technique."
"And the girls and the dresses and the soft and the way that they walk, completely different the dancers than in Europe."
"Like rolling, like rolling I can say. All the time they are moving the moving doesn't stop...Like waves of the sea."
She said it was very special experience.
"Like I say I came here a little bit upset and tired. Now I am happy. Yes this is my experience."
She said she has read a lot about the political situation inside China.
"And I was very surprised that one of the most beautiful performance with the orange [Risen Lotus Flower], they said that it was impossible to present in China because, well it was not allowed."
"And I was surprised that such beautiful things were not allowed to be presented. I didn't like that. But the art, I think the art is the most important way to fight against the things that are not correct."
"It is the best way because you are not fighting with pistols but you are telling what you can do too."
Ms. Barbacastro said she valued the presenters' explanations before each performance.
"This was gorgeous. I have to say congratulations."
