PRAGUE, Czech Republic—Anna Fejerova, a professional pianist who attended the Chinese Spectacular at Prague’s Congress Center on Tuesday, was very impressed by the show. “I appreciate a lot the dancers, drummers and the male singer [tenor],” said Fejerova.
“I was excited about those female dancers with the fans [Nymphs of the Sea] – the sea is a great idea. I mean visually I never saw waves represented this way and the ladies just handled it terrifically. They mastered it with great artistry.”
Fejerova added that she also enjoyed the drumming act and the erhu, a Chinese instrument known for its wide range of notes and haunting sound.
“The drums are specific, suggestive - you can imagine how they can inspire people in battle or wherever it is used. And also the two string instrument (erhu) was interesting.” She said Chinese and Western culture are “definitely different. At first glance you can notice the colors, they have the courage to use the colors….”
Petra Monaghan, an English teacher, also greatly enjoyed Tuesday’s show.
“Oh, it was very beautiful. We like the drumming, dancers and the colors – it was very colorful, very nice energy. It was very pretty.”
Monaghan said she especially liked Water Sleeves and the energetic drumming act, Victory Drums.
She also commented on attempts by the Chinese Embassy in Prague to deter people from attending the Spectacular. The Chinese regime has, through its consulates and embassies, sought to interfere with the Spectacular in many cities.
The Beijing regime dislikes the Spectacular because it includes two acts depicting the illegal persecution of the meditation practice Falun Gong, which the Chinese Communist Party has outlawed and sought to vilify since 1999 for no just cause.
“I think it’s very sad. I don’t see why they should do that. You know, people want to practice and show people about their “Dafa” and teach them maybe a little bit about Truth, about Compassion, so I don’t think they have a reason to stop this.”
