PRAGUE, Czech Republic—A family from the United Kingdom and their Czech friend were thrilled with the Chinese Spectacular which they attended at the Congress Center in Prague on Tuesday.
"We loved it. We liked the water fairies and I liked the drummers as well because I liked the way more drummers came on. As they were drumming initially, I thought that must be a stage full and then more came on," said Helen Pletts, who writes poetry and prose.
"The rainbow dancers [Snowy Mountain White Lotus] were absolutely incredible."
Pletts' daughter, 14-year-old Amber, said, "the water fairies were the best for me, I liked the fans that created an effect of a ripple. I also liked the beginning. The cloud scenes were lovely as well."
Domincka Kiene, a speech therapist from Prague, said she enjoyed the Mongolian Bowl Dance.
"Actually I liked the Mongolian Girls, I liked the dress—I would wear it. Everything is pretty and colors are very nice, very graceful. I think it is graceful and peaceful."
"It makes you feel calm and beautiful, actually. It makes you feel really beautiful inside," Pletts added.
Ten-year-old Teresa said her favourites were the drumming acts—Drummers of the Tang Court and Victory Drums—while Kiene preferred Nymphs of the Sea.
"The water fairies were the most beautiful—with the fans looking like water and waves," she said.
"I think that it takes more effort than it looks to keep up that momentum and that pace—that is fantastic. They make it look effortless because they went from kneeling to standing and there was hardly a wobble and it was all of them that were doing that," Kiene added.
