TAICHUNG—On March 10, 2008, after watching the Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular in Taichung, legislator at Taichung, Jiang Lianfu said, "The show was unbelievably wonderful! It portrays 5,000-year of Chinese culture thoroughly through dancing performances. The Divine Performing Arts is the pride of the Chinese, and I'm really glad I came here tonight."
He added, "Though the show lasted for only two hours or so, the essence of the Chinese culture had been thoroughly presented. When expressed with dancing, our profound culture is easier for everyone to appreciate." He said that the first program, "Descent of the Celestial Kings" was so overwhelming, the "Drummers of the Tang Court" so breathtaking, that they lingered in his mind for a long time.
The legislator also viewed last year's Spectacular. He said last years' programs were fabulous, but this year was even better with many innovations. "They have done a great job innovating and improving, and I believe they will continue doing so," he said.
"The Divine Performing Arts showed the world what great things Chinese people can achieve," he said proudly. "Not many dancing troupes can come up with a large variety of innovated programs every year. I think the Spectacular , featuring the Tang Dynasty, is the pride of all Chinese people around the world, because it is indeed magnificent. I hope that all the people in Taichung should put aside all other engagements and make time to see the show. They would regret later if they missed the show. Its magnificent images will linger in our minds for a long period of time."
"Falun Gong is very popular in Taiwan. As it is highly welcome among the Chinese people, many of my friends are also Falun Gong practitioners. I would like to join them when an opportune time comes," said Jiang Lianfu.
