PRAGUE, Czech Republic—The Chinese Spectacular presented dance and mythology from China's rich 5000 year history to a Czech audience at the prestigious Prague Congress Centre on Tuesday.

Among attendees of the show was Lucie Papežová who praised the costumes, perfect coordination of the dances and drumming. She described the details of the Spectacular as "beautiful."

"Sometimes I had a chill, and sometimes I felt compassion for those people. It was so well done; the feeling was well depicted. It was super." Another audience member, Jirina Sojkova, said she was fascinated by the dancers.

"They moved like being on wheels. It's wonderful how they do those small steps."

Sojkova described herself as a human rights supporter and said she didn't think she would be able to see a show like the Spectacular in China.

Besides depicting the cultural traditions and spiritual beliefs that have been repressed in China since the Chinese Communist Party gained control of the country, the Spectacular also has two performances that depict the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Sojkova said she is against human rights violations anywhere in the world and was a child when student demonstrators were killed in Tiananmen Square in 1989.

"I felt very bad about that back then."

Jan Večeřa, a production manager, also praised the show.

"The expression of dance was very beautiful; the music was drifting; the lyrics were meaningful."

Večeřa said the drumming was his favorite element. "It touched me very much."

The Spectacular will hold its final Prague performance Wednesday before continuing the European portion of its global tour with dates in Berlin and Stockholm.
