BRATISLAVA, Slovakia—Milada Lackovicova works as a dentist and Daniela Kotisova works in the corporate finance department of a telecommunications firm. They were both former junior high classmates and are also travel companions, and have traveled to China two years ago.
The former classmates came to the Chinese Spectacular in Bratislava after Ms Lackovicova heard about it from a patient.
"We loved the show," said Lackovicova.
Her friend, Ms Kotisova said: “We had watched Chinese Opera two years ago in China. It was a little weird. We liked this show much better—the colors and everything else were really gorgeous."
Both were very much taken by the fan dance "Lightness and Grace." They also loved the "Mongolian Bowl Dance," in which the dancers carried three tea bowls, one on their head and one in each of their hands.
"This was beautiful. And the scene with the drums before the curtain call was very impressive. These were heroes of the past—and their victory drums," said Kotisova.
When asked about the impression left on them after the three-hour performance, Lackovicova said: "We feel great."
The two friends hope to make another trip to Asia and visit China, Tibet, Nepal and India.
