TAICHUNG, Taiwan—After hearing praises about the Chinese Spectacular from their close friends, painting artists Li Qi-mao and Zhu Wei-bai and poets Yu Kuang-chung and Huang Chao-hu came to attend the Chinese Spectacular's premiere in Taichung.

Huang Chao-hu, who is the chairman of the Federation of International Tsai-mo Artists, said he had high praises for NTDTV for hosting such a "meaningful" event.

"It is quite touching to see the integration of music, lighting, technology, and professionalism. There is a kind of energy. Quite remarkable."

Viewing the Chinese Spectacular from an artist's perspective, Huang said, "At the ending moment of the Oriental dance, the still performers are installation art. From the point of view of the installation art, the color, lighting, and posture are very special. These performers' postures are worth learning for us."

Huang, who often accompanies the Mayor to see Taiwanese Folk Opera, also said the Spectacular "is different from the so-called Taiwanese Folk Opera, although they both originated from mainland China. The Chinese Spectacular's interpretation of the legends has a different imposing manner."

Huang said that he thinks that it is worthwhile for Taiwan to learn the Spectacular's combination of imposing manner, arts, and technology.

"The program has a very strong beginning. Also, the opening of the fans program has great posture in the middle of the show. The fans come with colorful ribbons. Very creative.

"Nowadays, many artists emphasize refinement rather than going down the direction of writing ugly literature, arts, and drama. People in the East looks for these things, between the empty and substantial, strong and weak, as well as yin and yang. It is remarkable to display the extensity of Chinese painting and calligraphy in this performance."

"I saw their high-level dancing skills through the many different programs. The stories with movements and music became vivid. Very vivid and creative."

"The belief such as [the one presented in] The Loyalty of Yue Fei always exists, as if the benevolence, spreading, or feeling of religions all exists. There is religious freedom in Taiwan. Any religion can be acceptable as if any religion can be integrated into a family."

Speaking of the digital backdrop, Huang Chao-hu said, "Now, the technology enables [showing] people rise to the sky and the sun shining. It's great. The integration of arts, dance, and music is fabulous."

Huang said that the artists and people who love music and dance in Taichun area must see the Chinese Spectacular. He said that he will go back to widely promote the Spectacular because it is such a "meaningful" show.
