TAINAN—On February 29 the Tainan County Council spokesman Wu Chien-pao and his wife watched the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular in Tainan, Taiwan. Wu said he loved the "harmonious" show.
Wu said, "The entire show is very harmonious, and the dancers' movements are very charming." He added that the true Chinese culture interpreted with classic dances bears profound social and educational significance.
The dance drama The Power of Awareness impressed Wu the most, because "it represented the true human nature of goodness."
"When three villains persecuted the benevolent Falun Gong practitioners, people finally woke up to truth and reached out their helping hands," Wu reflected the scene with a smile. "They stood up to protect good people from the villains and to fight against injustice."
Wu congratulated the successful show, particularly commending the beautiful costumes and the "perfect movements" of the dancers. He said it was a pity that the Spectacular is performing in only five cities in Taiwan this year, and wished more cities could have the "honor" to see the show next year.
Wu's colleague Council member Huang Yue-jyuan also watched the Spectacular of 2007. This year, although busy with the election, she put everything else aside and managed to make time for the show.
Huang said she loved the style and language of the hosts. Her favorite segments were The Risen Lotus Flower and The Power of Awareness.
"Now the society is just too disorderly, because people don't follow the right ways," said Huang. "That's why we need shows like the Divine Performing Arts Spectacular to spread artistic beauty and good moral values. It'll improve our society."
She added, "Taiwan, relatively speaking, lacks cultural education. The Spectacular enriches people's spiritual life, so it is most precious for all of us."
