NEW YORK—Corporate litigation attorney Mike Weiss said the Falun Gong performance "was one of the higher points" at the Chinese New Year Splendor on Monday night.
"I thought it was interesting ... The drums were [also] very good.
"We like the drums; the drums and the Falun Gong. That was pretty powerful," he said.
His cousin, Pam Katz who works for a non-profit international aid and development organization, also enjoyed the show.
"It's great, it's very interesting, I really like the drumming," she said
Ms Katz said she was impressed by the digital backdrops.
"It adds a bit of atmosphere that you wouldn't get with normal backdrops," she said.
Ms Katz said she would recommend the Chinese New Year Splendor to people who have an interest in Chinese culture and people who want to celebrate the New Year, or do something special for the New Year.
Mr Weiss said there certainly seemed to be a lot of Chinese folks in the audience.
"When I was in China, I went to one show in this theater in Shanghai, and it was similar to this, only not as good. It was very, very, very simple, and didn't have a message. This has a bit more of a message, which I like.
"I would say this is nice and popular entertainment," he said.
