LOS ANGELES—Troubled pop singer Britney Spears' hospital stay for psychiatric evaluation has been extended for two weeks, according to media reports on Monday.

Celebrity Web sites TMZ.com and Eonline.com reported that doctors at the UCLA Medical Center, where Spears was admitted last week, had ordered her to remain there for another 14 days.

Spears was hospitalized last Thursday for a 72-hour evaluation, and on Friday, her father, Jamie Spears, and an attorney were granted temporary co-conservatorship over her affairs by a Los Angeles court.

Attorneys for the singer and her parents were due back in court on Monday.

The conservatorship cedes control over the singer's liquid assets, including her home, to her father and attorney Andrew Wallete.

In addition, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge issued a "civil harassment restraining order" to keep Spears' self-styled manager and confidant, Sam Lutfi, away from the performer.

Lutfi has been seen with Spears almost constantly in recent months as her personal life has spun out of control.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles police are investigating a report filed by Spears' father of an apparent theft of "several personal items" from her home, a police spokeswoman said. The spokeswoman said the items were reported missing on Friday.
