NEW YORK—After seeing the "Chinese New Year Splendor" show, Famatta Deline, Deputy Council of the Republic of Liberia, said that the Chinese culture is unique and that in truth and unity, there is strength.
She added that the Chinese people have will power, which is very, very important for the people of that country.
"The performances were fantastic. It was out of this world. I really had a nice time and my family did as well," she said.
She said that the story about the Moon Lady was fantastic because she had to leave her partner and go out alone to do something she believed in. That took a lot of strength.
"It is a wonderful show, and I will tell all my friends to come see it."
Chiquita, her daughter, said, "I learned a lot about Chinese culture, like how to celebrate Chinese New Year and how they dress."
Mance, another daughter, said that she learned a lot from the show about the Chinese culture and heritage. "I learned...how to be nice and how to love people. The story with the truthfulness, forbearance, and compassion—the whole story line about how to be nice to those in trouble and how to step in and help them."
The Deputy Consul's husband, Joe, said that the show is very unique. He learned about unity and how to help and protect one another. He spoke of the story where all the kids got together to protect the mother and her child. He said that it showed that unity is strength.
The Chinese New Year Splendor continues in New York through Saturday, Feb. 9.
