SEOUL—On February 24, 2008, the curtains fell on the Divine Performing Arts' last showing of the Chinese Splendor in Seoul, South Korea. During the intermission, Mr. Zhang Hui, an immigrant worker from mainland China, told the reporter during an interview that seeing the performance put him in a wonderful mood.

Zhang had purchased his ticket after reading about the show in The Epoch Times newspaper. Zhang said, "I grew up watching the Spring Festival Gala put on by CCTV, but it gets more lame and rowdy every year. It has no depth—it's just all undignified jokes and lies. However, this [ Spectacular ] performance has deeper meaning and really shows you the reason for living. The song 'Finding the Truth' was especially compelling. I almost cried."

Zhang expressed that all the programs were great, but the show felt too short because he just couldn't get enough of it. The dances "Descent of the Celestial Kings," "The Risen Lotus Flower," and "Drummers of the Tang Court" have the most lasting impressions on him. "Descent of the Celestial Kings" released an inner burst of excitement within him, while "The Risen Lotus Flower" was very realistic and "Drummers of the Tang Court" displayed the renaissance of Chinese culture.

He emphasized that China's persecution of Falun Gong is too severe. "In the end, the righteous will still defeat the evil. Just like a dark cloud hovering over the sky, eventually it will part and the sun will shine through."

Another immigrant worker from China sitting next to Zhang also saw the performance last year. For him, "The Risen Lotus Flower" left the greatest impression. He said, "It was very realistic. The show gets better every year! I will come again next year."
